Water conservation scarf!

You may ask yourself
(many a day goes by...no, other train of thought)

how can a scarf conserve water?
Well, when you're working with drywall over your head, if you don't get pieces stuck in your hair that up your shower time by 30 minutes or so, well, that would work.

At least that's my hope.

Off to bash more drywall!

Well, I made progress on my hat.
That's my goal right now, to finish this by the end of the week.

I also made a small rubberband for my hair. Fustus steals all my regular ones and since my hair is so short, I need really small ones. Especially when you have to pull your hair back to do demo, which I did yesterday.

As you can tell, I'm posting a day late.
The main reason for that is that I made a error in judging just how long and how much energy my defensive driving class online would take.

I had done all but the last row here before the class, and all I could do was the final row then crash, this time into bed!

So, a while back, I bought some little fixture fittings because I thought they'd be cool for having candles in them.

and they are, in a boring way.

For another idea I had, I bought some glass paint that is air-dry.
Woo hoo! No baking in the oven and having to air out the entire house!
So, still skeptical of it, I decided to try it out on the little boring candle sconces.

So experimental, that the flowers are different colors.

So, I decided the only thing I really wanted to make today was my guitar easier to play.

I have a movable bridge which is in two pieces.
The action was really high, and although, like driving a stick shift, it deters theft, I miss having feeling in the tips of my left hand fingers.

So, after a little online research, I found that the best way to lower the action is to plane or sand off the amount of wood on the bottom of the top piece that you need to lower the action.

Reassembled, still a bit higher than most guitars, but I didn't want to have to re-carve the part if I went too far.

My fingers are thanking me already.

So, yesterday I attempted to modify a skirt I got at the thrift store.
The result was so bad, that I decided not even to sew the things I knitted on to it.
No pictures for that.

Today, I was going to make a cape. I have it all cut out and everything.
But, then it was demanding closures that I don't have, so it will have to wait.

In the meantime:Shirt! (and mess)

It's nice and deep but didn't have cushions.....

New Hat!

Apparently my making things in team colors is bad luck for them.
I need to stop doing that on game days!

So, my previous backpack created a demand for a custom bag.
It had to be the right colors, have a padded pocket for a small laptop, pockets for the necessities (i.e. sunglasses, keys and lipgloss)
and have the strap design I used on the other, a sling bag style and a backpack style.

So, for the Momarrazzi, the bag, made out of old sports coats.
With the flap over, it looks calm enough

With the flap up, you get a bit more of the pattern and two of the pockets

Across from it is an inside pocket

And, yes, the flap does have a pocket
The button was the last touch and wasn't featured in the first picture.

So, I have a pleased customer who already has it filled!

One of the most tragic things in Fustus' life was when his bed was taken away.
The last remaining reminder was the mattress topper which was to go to Goodwill today, it was a tragedy that had to be averted.

So, I made the topper into a little pallet that could be opened up for prime nesting

So, not much today, though I am currently making Spinach Artichoke dip,
but, I made the template and file for the "Wounded Duck" label
to transfer to my embroidery machine

Then I tested it, yes, it will embroider on leather

And then, it was off to find bag material.
Goodwill had $1 on any pink tagged item.
4 coats for $4? sign me up!

So, today I had a day of Creative ADD.
I worked on about 5 things.

One thing I made then required it have something to go on,
and, well, I needed a new backpack, so....

It has two different ways of being worn, this is with the sling style

I've been playing with a crochet technique that's new for me.
That's what I've been using on the paws.
I started to make more paws today, and decided to try the technique out on a hat

So, a crocheted hat!
It's crocheted in rows and is made wider by the size stitch used.

Anyone wanting to try, let me know and I'll tell you how I did it
